September sees the UK harvest finally reach its peak, and with an array of delicious fruit ripe for the picking, we thought we'd better put it to good use. Damsons might be more commonly found in gins and jams, but the fresh, tart flavours make the perfect base for a rich, complex Porter too…

Tradition with a twist

Fuller's has been almost synonymous with the Porter style for decades, but this addition to our seasonal stable adds another chapter to the story – with a fresh, fruity damson twist hiding in the dark of this delicious pint.

A plum ingredient for a seasonal Autumn beer, the damson really comes into its own this time of year – and we've harvested all its intriguing sweet and sour flavours in Damson Porter.

Brewer's notes

A dark, russet brown pint, Damson Porter offers a nose of roasted malts with gentle hints of citrus. Brewed with a big malt base and lightly toasted oats, it harnesses the intriguing sweet and sharp flavours of autumnal ripened damsons, with Northdown and Cascade hops working to bring out the natural fruitiness of the plums.

Raise a glass

The Porter beer style belongs to London's rich brewing history. Popular for centuries in pre-Victorian Britain, it died out in the early 1900s – before Fuller’s London Porter played a big part in bringing it back.
