The year's best beer

The 2009 vintage was, as ever, well received by the Fuller's faithful – and it drew plaudits from further afield too. It was voted 'Best New Release of 2009' by the World Beer Awards' judging panel.

Always evolving

The live yeast in our Vintage Ales means they continue to mature long past their 'best before' date. As the years go by, the beer develops new characteristics and great depth of flavour.

Brewer's notes

The aroma of the 2009 Vintage Ale picks out orange notes and rich marzipan character. On the palate, it's full and well rounded, showing some 'sherryfication' and slight caramelised notes – but the warming alcohol finish is still highly prominent.

Food pairing

The ultimate beer for a decadent dessert.

Golen amber in colour with aromas and flavours of nuts, toffee, caramel and fruit (particularly orange). Its full body will match the dense texture of the pudding with the beers' sweetness complementing the toffee and the overall sweetness in the dessert.
