A tropical twist on our classic ale

A 21st should always be heartily celebrated, and Vintage Ale 2017 doesn’t disappoint – marking the occasion by introducing a brand new hop-and-malt combination to the Fuller's family.

American hop Denali imparts pineapple, citrus and pine notes, bringing a gentle tropical touch to the Vintage Ale series for the first time, while British malt variety Laureate also makes its debut appearance in a Fuller's beer. The result is pure poetry.

Brewer's notes

Pouring a deep amber colour, Vintage Ale 2017 opens with distinctive citrus aromas from the Denali hop. Tropical notes play on the palate, while hints of rich orange marmalade come through from the famous Fuller's yeast. Like all our vintages, it's a bottle-conditioned beer that continues to mature until it's opened.

Vintage Ale 2017 is the first in the series to be brewed by our new Head Brewer, Georgina Young. A key part of the brewing team for many years, Georgina officially took the reins from John Keeling in 2017, becoming Fuller's first ever female Head Brewer.
